A letter from
Michele Stroh

I would love to thank my community for the opportunity to serve as your school board member the last 4 years. I have leaned so much and continue to ask for accountability, transparency and most of all, student success.

In my first term, I was able to work with administration, nurses, and the Board to create a Narcan Policy, which allowed our district to have this life saving medication on campus to be used if needed for our students. The district recognized my advocacy on Fentanyl awareness, and together, we proactively introduced educational programs. I also had the opportunity to lead assemblies for our junior high and high school students.

As the state legislation passed mandated Fentanyl education in the short session, our district was already ahead by having this education worked into our teachings.

I listen more than I speak. If you listen just to respond, you are not listening.

Oregon is at the bottom for education. The rules set forth by the legislation and ODE have further hampered our recovery since COVID. I have pledged to be more involved at the state level for the bills and mandates that directly affect our student’s education.

Student behavior is one of the greatest concerns from our teachers and staff. We must bring back accountability within the classroom setting.

Parents are concerned with the low testing data and the withdrawal of state graduation requirements.

I encourage parents to be involved and stay involved throughout the child’s education. Parents know their child better than anyone.

I am a lifelong Oregon City resident. I raised my family here in this district.

I am a small business owner.

I look forward to the opportunity of serving out community for a second term.
